Definitely shinning India campaigning will brainwash for some people in the cities and gaonwallas. But is it really shinning? Definitely not! Let me highlights something about National Highways Shinning in North Eastern States in India. The shinning campaigning is just a white lie to the people of India. I believe and trust in our political leaders that after 2020, India will be a shinning India but not at present situation. Yes I even felt that Congress had built the building and BJP had whitewashed the building in Northeast and at the National Level. The Northeastern states have sufficient water resources and hydroelectricity power but many villages have not water supply and electricity but I won’t write about this today.  I would like to focus my point on National Highways in NorthEast India, as it is the lifelines for the North Eastern States. 

There are ten (10) National Highways (NHs) in northeastern states of India. NH³¹ links from Koch Bihar to Gauhati. NH³⁶ from Jorhat to Kohima, NH³⁷ Gauhati to Jorhat, NH³⁸ Dibrugarh to Arunachel Pradesh, NH³⁹ Kohima to Imphal, NH⁴⁰ Gauhati to Shillong, NH⁴⁴ Shillong-Silchar to Agartala, NH⁵² Baihata to Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh, NH⁵³ Silchar to Imphal, NH⁵⁴ Silchar to Aizawl. All the NHs are in very bad condition except NH⁵², which is bus plyable condition. I used to travel from Imphal to Gauhati by bus since 1992 and I had a very bad experienced going by bus from Imphal to Gauhati. In Last 14 years there is not much changed in National Highways in Northeast. The MPs from N.E./Central government should have made good roads from Gauhati to other states, as the NHs from Gauhati to other states are the main life lines for the people of northeast for there is no Railway line to other states except Nagaland. All the National Highways in northeastern states are not in good condition. The crushed stones are rolling on the road without tar/blacktopped in many highways. From Gauhati to Imphal it takes around 16-18 hours by bus and it is not a joke to sit inside the bus such a long journey where vibration is unbearable. The distance from Dimapur to Imphal is around 210kms. However it takes around 8-9 hours by bus, where as from Pune to Mumbai (Highway Express) is around 210 Kms and it takes only three and half-hours. The crushed stones lying on the roads without blacktopped are shinning in all the NHs in NorthEast India otherwise nothing is shinning in North east India.  

Can we expect the MPs from N. Eastern States/Central government to provide good infrastructures in all the villages especially the National Highways in Northeastern States to be bus plyable road without much vibration in next half decade? I hope and request all the MPs from North Eastern States will work together regardless of from different parties to improve the National Highway in North Eastern States after the 14^th Lok Sabha election for the development of North Eastern States in India.
